How long before your no claims discount expire?

I stopped driving on my own insurance around 13 months and have not driven on it since, but now i am looking to drive on my own insurance once again. When i stopped driving on my own insurance i had around 4 years no claims, does anyone know how long it will be before they are no longer valid? Does it differ between insurers or is it the same across the industry? Would i need to somehow prove to my new insurer that i do have said no claims? Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Many Thanks.

Hi --- It differs according to individual companies, some allow from six months right up to two or three years, you need to check your past insurers terms to find out if your no claims entitlement is still valid.
