russcalls: i keep getting their debt team ringing and they dont listen!
what are my options as i feel suddenly being billed for this is a bit out of order??
If the supplier's debt team keeps ringing and you don't think they are listening you probably need to discuss the problem with the Citizens Advice Bureau
Whether the sudden bill is "out of order" is not straightforward. The quarterly bills with the estimated readings probably had a section about supplying customer readings and you didn't. Too late now. Whether the estimates were based on previous consumption for the property I can't say. Whether the estimates are based on typical consumption for your type of property I can't say either because you don't say what type of property.
However your consumption does seem high, perhaps about double the estimate. Is there a reason for high consumption? Poor insulation? Inefficient heating? Preference for heat? Wrong initial readings?
Readings by a meter reader are unlikely to be wrong but still its worth checking the readings are approximately right and the meter serial numbers agree with the serial number stated on the bill. Are both the recent gas and electric readings actual readings? Is the gas bill calculation right for the type of meter? You need to post more details about that.
Get assistance from the CAB and explain your circumstances again to the supplier. There is little point in them not listening if the customer has no funds. They should at least be suggesting prepayment meters.
