blue moon:
If you are talking about extended warranty type policy to cover repair, Domestic and General can provide cover for numerous electrical items.
If you look into warranties offered many articles have been written to advise that they are not worth the money. You are automatically entitled to a 2 year warranty under EU legislation. It is EU Directive (1999/44/EC) and it states that "a two-year guarantee applies for the sale of all consumer goods everywhere in the EU. In some countries, this may be more, and some manufacturers also choose to offer a longer warranty period."
The other problem with warranties is that companies try to wriggle out of paying using small print, e.g. the item has not been used in accordance with manufacturers terms and conditions.
So my advise is, don't bother unless you feel comforted by paying for extra protection.
Arrange Home Insurance to cover your Home Contents, including Accidental damage, plus take out the legal expenses option. Home Insurance will not cover mechanical breakdown(faults) but will cover if you accidentally damaged items. Having the legal expenses cover can be useful, as some cover legal expenses for consumer disputes. So if you had a problem with a purchase, you may have cover to take legal action if required.
