    Re: house insurance

The main thing is to have building insurance. Personally, unless there was something particularly valuable that needed cover, I wouldn't take out contents insurance unless I found a particularly good deal.

    house insurance

My partner and his friend owned a house together and my partner lived in the house with his son and a lodger. The friend has died and my parter has recently been sent to prison. There is currently no house insurance on the property but as the friend's estate is going through probate the family require house insurance. Is this possible. What kind of insurance will they need? The lodger and my partner's son are both still livingat the house. I am currently trying to buy the property but will not be living there permanently.
