No claims discount for Home Insurance Buildings and Contents does not work the same way as motor Insurance. You will not be asked to send in any proof of discount or having no claims. However, Insurers do have a shared database and they will know whether you have had any claims. If the Insurers subsequently found that you did not declare claims at inception, they could decline a claim due to non disclosure.

I'm not sure that you need proof of no claims on your buildings or contents insurance just the statement as to when you last if ever made a claim.

You should be careful not to make a false statement.

You can phone the council and ask them for the year of build. It usually only needs to be approximate.

PS I assume you are talking about buildings insurance.
