Re: Holiday insurance claim - Lack of communication - next steps to take?

Thank you for your help in this matter. I have spoken to flexi cover direct in order to resolve the situation. It turns out that I'd sent in my insurance certificate from last year instead of this year (amazing how it took 3 months to find that out!)

I emailed in my current cover certificate and have been told that they will assess this claim asap. As for the camera, despite the camera having been 'returned' to me on the 22nd August as they said, it turns out it hadn't yet left their office. I will give them a call in the next week or so to find out what progress has been made.

Thanks again for your efforts to help me in this

    Neal

Re: Holiday insurance claim - Lack of communication - next steps to take?

    Hi Neal

As promised we have investigated the situation for you. The insurance company have confirmed that the claim was due to be reviewed again today following your most recent correspondence to them (received 15th September).

We are concerned that you have not received your camera back from the insurance company... You mentioned that you have had no reply from them since the automated letter dated 13th August, however, they have explained that the camera was returned to you on 22nd August because the insurance document that you provided did not relate to a Flexicover policy.

It is assumed that you received this correspondence from them as their files show that you contacted them on 6th September to try to resolve the confusion. It was at this time that it was established that you had a Flexicover product and asked you to send the policy confirmation. This was received on 15th September and the insurance company are now in a position to progress your claim.

The insurance company accept that there has been delays in responding to your correspondence since you first contacted them in June but we are confident that this will be resolved shortly.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Neal

We apologise for the difficulties you have experienced with your claim. We will discuss this with the insurers at the earliest convenience on Monday to find out what the issue is.

Either ourselves or the insurers will be in contact with you early next week.

Holiday insurance claim - Lack of communication - next steps to take?

    Hi,

I made a claim on my holiday insurance (CTB - FlexicoverDirect) for a broken camera on approx 20th June 2008. I sent all the relevant documentation off within a week of returning home from holiday. I received a letter from the insurance company asking me to send in my camera which I did recorded delivery.

    Since then I have had to harry and chase the company for any information regarding the claim to which the only response I have had is;

    Dear Mr Dunkinson

Thankyou for your email. We can confirm that we have received the documentation you sent to us and that your claim should be process in the next seven working days.

    Citybond Claims

This was sent August 13th and since then I've had no other communication save automated replies promising responses. I would like to know if there is anything more I can do save write a letter of complaint? Would moneysupermarket.com be able to help in anyway if nothing else but inform others about this very poor lack of customer service.

I wonder what would become of this claim if I didn't keep chasing it up?

    Thanks

    Neal
