coochy:thankyou huckster he is okay the hospital said he was very lucky i will try the mib site but i didnt think it was worth reporting to police as we have no reg or no witnesses

    Coochy

You must report this to the Police as this is required by the MIB.

What happens the next time the other driver kills one your neighbours sons and drives off? I think you and your son might feel a tad guilty if reporting this to the Police, could have led to the driver being taken off the road. If the Police have a chance to catch the idiot, I would make the effort. The Police should deal with it. Leaving the scene of an accident is a serious matter, particularly when someone is injured. You don't know, the driver may be on drugs or is illegally driving the car. They might live in the area and drive down the same roads on a regular basis. Have a think about it.

Might sound a bit dramatic but if I were in this position I would see the Police, just in case.

First of all I hope your son is ok and that he has had a Hospital check him over.

The matter should be reported to the Police. If he has any memory of the accident, the Police may be able to trace the other vehicle on road traffic cameras or other CCTV.

You should look into whether a claim could be submitted to the Motor Insurers Bureau. See the following link http://www.mib.org.uk/Submit+a+Claim/en/Default.htm

I have not read through the MIB details. Your son should only report accident to Insurers if this is a requirement of the MIB process or the Police manage to find out the details of the other driver. As he only has 3rd party, it is unlikely that the other driver, having left the scene of an accident, will try to claim against your sons policy. If he reported the accident to his Insurers they would just make a note. It would not affect the NCD as it would be noted as non-fault. But some Insurers will still load the premium.

    hit and run

my son was knocked off his scooter by another driver receiving bad cuts to his arms and legs luckily no broken bones but the driver of the car decided to drive off my son did not get the registration as he blacked out for a few seconds is it worth telling his insurance as he is only third party and does not know the reg of the car so would this affect his no claims
