Ok, The story so far a friends dad is a mechanic and he bought a Vectra from one of his friends it was a Cat D repaired car and he has no complaints he bought one also a few years ago for another of his sons again no complaints (5 years later and still running well).

Now he has an 06 astra he repaired i have seen pictures of the damage before it was repaired and been in to look it over all the side panels were bashed in windows were put through and damage was consistant with an angry ex boyfriend as i was told. Since he has a good past record and the car is a bargain (06 plate and £4,000) i do want to buy the car but have no idea what i need to make sure the car is allowed on the road it goes in for the VIC check on thursday but that just the ID check nothing to do with body. So the question do i need to get an inspection from the AA or RACfor it to be legally allowed on the road? and anything else i need to do?
