    Hi elinchrom999

Mobile broadband can be a great way to get access to the internet when your out and about.

I can confirm that our modems are compatible with 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Please be aware that the K3520-Z will not work with the 64 bit version of Snow Leopard, all other devices will work fine.

    I'm glad I could help

    All the best

Thanks-are you on OSX 10.6? Apparently Vodafone dongles did work fine with Leopard 10.5, but the guy at Carphonewarehouse told me they wont with 10.6 snow leopard. Anybody out there got one working with 10.6 on a Mac?
Looks to me like a cheapo non-3G paygo mobile and dongle are the answer to my problems if only I can get one to work on 10.6.

Can't help with all your query but I can confirm that vodaphone dongles work with Macs and Leopard (this reply is being sent using both). Reception can be iffy and it is definitely slower in the evenings when more people are using the system. They are easy to use too - just plug into a USB port and connect.

Help-old git needs advice about mobile!

OK-been with 02 since they took over securicor cellular or whatever it used to be called.
Here is my question. Currently have a Nokia N82 3G phone-absolutely crap but the 02
contract on it is now up and despite a new battery it still needs lots of charging to keep going.

I'm paying £35 to £40 a month and was using the phone for mostly incoming calls and some light
text messaging-not a lot. It connected to my Apple MacBook just fine for occasional emergency use
of 3G when I couldn't get a free Maccy D wifi hotspot for the laptop.

Apparently thats an expensive way to send 1mb 'ish photo files to the paper I work for and a dongle
would be better once they work out the connectivity problems with OSX Snow Leopard which I have
,(foolishly), upgraded to,(now the N82 will NOT connect at all).

So my question is this-should I just get a cheap pay as you go dongle and a cheapo non 3G phone
on contract or pay as you go, or just pay up and get an apple 3GS i-phone on a new 2 yr contract.
Or even buy the old 3G one for £342 and use pay as you go.
Is the i-phone just over hyped and over rated? Part of the problem with the Nokia N82 is the crappy
little keys for a big bloke and shiny surface with indecipherable black letters and numerals unless you
hold the phone at an angle.

Any and all advice gratefully received, bearing in mind that I'm 52 years old and not some whizz kid,
although definitely NOT a luddite and able to grasp most technologies,(eventually!!).
