    Re: Help with Equifax?

I don't have any agreements apart from the banks, searches... I think I can definitely say that was from these motorbike insurance quotes I was searching, I did about 5 or 6 at least, so these searches are derogatory on my report then?

Credit ratings, how do I find that? I can see the score and they are anything from 0 to 500 I think

    Hi money_man,

By 'arrangements' I mean have you had your credit file searched and committed yourself and entered into an agreement? If you don't have much on credit, you don't really have a credit file as such.

By 'searches' this means when you apply for something, and subsequently get turned down (or even accepted) this is a 'search'. Recruitment agencies, employers, banks, even insurance companies make searches but this should always be advised if not obvious! If you have lots of searches applied to you, then this can count against you.

And when I mentioned about me not being in double figures, I meant I probably have a credit rating between 1 and 9 - not over 10!!!

Arrangements? and searches? this is all new to me, so if you can spare a few seconds and explain those - that be great. And yes I don't have much of a credit history just under 12 months and on the Equifax it says I've had for 6 years?!

and I have checked my report and I don't know whether it's hit double or not, all I know is that is very poor (298) and everything else is excellent.

    Re: Help with Equifax?

Have you had a few finance arrangements in the past? Do you have a number of searches applied to your name? Sounds to me like it's a precautionary measure as you perhaps haven't had much credit in the past or you have been searched too many times.

If I had the balls, I'd check my credit report. I guarantee it wouldn't hit double figures!!

    Help with Equifax?

I've just obtained my report and my score is 298 - which is very poor, however all risk signals are satisfactory (or in the green) credit aggreements are mostly excellent and everything else is good or excellent so why is the score very poor?
