    hi,

thanks so much for your response, so as long as i pay the dca then i will have no problems? qill this affect my credit rating? im a bit unsure by what u mean when u said as long as its being blocked by the creditor that im on solid ground?

    thanks lisa

It means that should this issue ever go to court (which is improbable), the courts would view very poorly the fact that you had offered to pay as normal but had been turned down by the creditor. The court procedure rules ask that both parties investigate ways to pay the debt prior to going to court.

    Hi Lisa,

Defaults are a lot further down the line.

Make the same offer to the DCA - if they want the money they will find a way, typically DCAs are very flexible in terms of taking money from people. You may even be able to negotiate better terms.

As long as you are trying to make payments and this is being blocked by the "creditor" you are on pretty solid ground.

    help! with aol payment

    hi

im new to here but wondering if anyone can give me there advise, i had my broadband with aol which i paid from my account and was in my name, my father had the bt line in his name the bt line got cut off because it had not been paid so aol cancelled my contract and have written to me saying i owe them almost 185 which is for the rest of the contract, i cant afford to pay this all at once and offered to pay it monthly but they said they do not have the facility to do this and it will be passed onot there collections agency without further notice, i do not want any defaults against my name is this what would happen, I have no way of paying the amount in full like they asked, im just worried that I will get a default and it will ruin my credit history

can anyone advise on what will happen?

    thanks
