    Re: HELP! Overdraft fee.

As annoying as it is, you have gone over your overdraft limit (limit is the key word) and as such you are liable to bank charges. The banks do set them them out quite clearly and it is your responsibility to stay within the limits and not theirs.

Cold comfort tjhat it is, £10.00 is a very reasonable fee for going over your overdraft limit. I once went over mine by less than 20 pence and faced £50+ in fees and charges.

The only thing I can suggest is thast you speak to the bank and appeal to their better nature and claim it as an oversight. Tghis tactic will only work of you have not regularly gone over your limiot previously. My bank normally will allow once per year for this type of leaway...on my own occasion it was unfortunately not the first time in the last 12 months and I faced the full charges. Speak to your bank and play dumb and you may save yourself a fee

    HELP! Overdraft fee.

    Hello all!

Im new to this forum and was wondering if I could request some advice on some recent overdraft charges I have incured.

On the 17th of November I had approximately £14.50 in my current account. My partner used our paypal account to pay for an item worth £14.93. I did not know that she had done this as we always use a credit card linked to the paypal account so she mustve accidentaly used the debit card and therefore taken the money out of my current account.

This overdrew me by 43p. As I thought I was safe, I had not checked my account until today. I have therefore been overdrawn for 10 days. I immediately rang my bank and informed them what had happened but was told there was nothing they could do and that I was going to get a £10 overdraft fee (£1 per day).

If I had overdrawn a larger amount (Hell even a pound!) I would not really feel bothered by this as it is clearly my mistake. However I cannot help but feel that this is a tad disproportionate! Is there anything that I can do about this? Or should I just accept it and move on? Has anybody else been in s aimilar situation and if so what did you do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
