Help needed with Triton/Green & Co/Natwest Credit Card

    Hi all,

I really hope somebody can help me.

I currently having trouble with a company called Triton Credit services!! After reading alot of the threads on this website so are alot of people.

It started at the beginning of the year when the DD was removed from my internet banking to which I recieved no explanation why this happened (Natwest internet banking!!) which affected my payments to my Natwest Credit Card!! After serveral phones calls back & forth to Natwest Credit card they said a new DD mandate would be sent out to me, which they didn't!! I know I should have been more proactive with getting a new DD set up but felt as I wasn't to blame they have to correct this......................more fool me!!

I have had an ongoing battle with Natwest Credit card as I haven't recieved any letters/statements from them since 2004 they have my address details but I still have no got anything from them!! I've checked with my previous 2 addresses & they have recieved no correspondence from Natwest. After explaining this several time to them the latest Customer service person was very rude & said "YOUR LETTERS ARE BEING SENT TO YOU!!" They have no record concerning the DD mandate being sent out.........what a suprise thats their typical tactic they have no record!! So they have apparently sent out a DEFAULT NOTICE , warning letters as well as a termination of my account letter. Can I ask for these to be sent out to me recorded?

Well cut along story short Natwest have terminated my account & passed my account to Triton. These guys are complete jokers!! First of all they told me they wouldn't accept less that £1,600 per month to which I said no way!! After which I recieved a letter from Green & Co solicitors threatening court action but would be give me one last chance!! I phoned them up to a very chav sounding girl who answered the phone with "Hi!!" & I offered the the amount of £160 to which they accepted!! A big difference from £1600. I find it really bizarre that I'm getting letters from Triton/Green & Co but not Natwest.

I probably haven't covered everything but any help anybody can offer would be a great help.

    Many Thanks

    Leon >:o)

    Leon

If the genuine original cause of this problem is that NatWest cancelled the DD which was paying your Credit card and that you have not received any correspondence e.g. statements, letters, Complain. You should send a recorded delivery letter to the RBS group Chief Executive in Edinburgh setting out all the details. The CEO's office will liase with the appropriate departments and respond to you. You should submit a subject access request paying the £10 required to facilitate this. NatWest would then have to send you all information relating to your accounts including any letters sent to you. While your complaint is being investigated NatWest should put on hold on any proceedings by Triton.

    RESULT!!

Thanks Huckster, sorry I didn't reply sooner!!

I recieved an official apology today in a letter which more or less said to draw a line under the subject & consider my account settled!!

Does this mean that my account was unenforceable? or does this mean that I had a legal case against them?

When I saw the dreaded Natwest fonted letter on my door mat I was expecting the worst but was totally speechless!!

I'm going for a celebration drink I think!!

    Thanks again!!

Whenever a bank offers this sort of settlement apology it means they don't want and don't offer an answer to that question.

However I suggest before you accept the oucome you should check what state they have left your credit file in. It's one thing saying the account is "settled", the effect on your credit file is another.

Well done, go for it . Frame the letter and put it on the wall of your toilet.

They obviously realised their mistakes as they would not have caved in otherwise. Just make sure they have cleared any details from your credit record including any defaults. I suppose you could take legal advice about suing them for damages, although this would be expensive. This is why they have not admitted very much in the letter received. This could be used by you otherwise.

Just follow up with a letter thanking them for the reply and asking for confirmation that your credit record has been restored to the status it was in prior to any action they have taken i.e reference to debt and any defaults removed and any credit score restored as a result. The bank should do this with the CRA's they may have notified.

This just proves that it is always worth complaining to a banks CEO, rather than putting up with nonsense from monkeys who keep churning out rubbish, without ever looking into complaints properly.

    Good luck. Stay in control!!
