help needed , am paying too much £125 a month, please help

Two years ago i took out life insurance with critical illness. For this i pay£125 a month for myself and my partner. I have just read the terms again and AXA say ithat there is payment protection ( they say that means if i become ill they will pay out some money to cover mortgage, only if i become ill not if i lose my job ) but surely if i become ill ( fingers cross i dont ) i can claim on the critical illness cover as thats the only thing that will stop me from working. I feel as if im getting ripped off. I know my F Advisor got £2000 comission for getting me this ,, im now thinking i only need the life insurance and the critical illnes cover ... does anyone think i should be paying alot less

    thanks trev

The cost of critical illness is much greater than the other type of insurance ASU/PPI/LPPI which is, when sold as a single premium very expensive (value wise) and mostly worthless. The commission payable on CI is about 50% of the premium and on ASU up to 90%.

Cant see that this helps but I thought you might like to know.
