On Tuesday 7th October in the morning, I transfered by CHAPS a large portion of my savings with Kaupthing Edge this was debited to my account as yet nothing has appeared in my linked account and I was charged £20 for the priviledge!! I also transfered £500 by BACS this too was debited to my account and this has not been credited to my linked account as yet. I telephoned Kaupthing Edge on the morning of the 8th and they advised they are still processing payments but still no sign of my money. Where do I go from here????? I suspect you will now have to wait for ING to get all the account details from Kaupthing Edge Uk. Just consider yourself lucky you didn't have your cash in Icesave.

Hi Bob, I'm in same position as you (as well as being an Icesaver - or loser, more like - just call me lucky/stupid) and can't get through to Kaupthing - always engaged.

I spoke with the FSCS earlier today and they said that ING is working fast to resume normal service. Perhaps pathetically, I felt strangely reassured to see a statement from the ING CEO and the ING logo on the KE website today.

With Icesave, monies that were withdrawn on Monday, for example, have been recredited to the account - so they never got to the link account. I am led to believe (no personal evidence - but from other bloggers) withdrawals from KE will go through but will take longer than the normal four days. In the meantime, I'll keep trying the number and let others know if I get any joy.

Just managed to contact Kaupthing Edge, they state that all the moneys that people have requested to be transfered will be transfered over the next few days, but they are working through a backlog of thousands!! They also said that once the money is in the linked account to telephone again and they will credit any charges for CHAPS payments to the customers accounts. Bob

Woah ! Well done, Bob ! Thanks for that. Makes you wonder what ING is going to be left with if thousands have already pulled their dosh out.....

Also in the same position,now on 4 days so keeping a close eye on my linked account, still not there. I do feel with have been lead down the garden path with regards to transfers, I was told that my money was in the BACS system and it would reach my bank today "Guarantee" was said by the friendly customer service member. But the fact is it was never in the BACS system it was in some holding account.

Still I am confident this will be sorted quickly now ING have taken over, unlike Icesave which could be months.

Just as a footnote the customer services lady at KE said that she had been on the phones since 8.00am and all the calls she had taken were from customers who had made CHAPS and BACS transfers to their linked accounts before being taken over by ING. Hopefully money will appear soon in my linked account.

As all above am in same postion although I asked for money to be transfered via a BACS over a week ago and still no sight of it appearing in my named account. How do we stand regarding loss of interest? ( or am I being far to hopeful)? as the Kaupthing web site says a BACS takes max 3 working days...That is assuming the money appears at all. Tip my hat to those that got through via phone... ING were no use at all.. Answered 'Don't Know' to all my questions...

I was trying to split my money into parcels to safeguard it and had only recently put deposits into Kaupthing Edge and ING. Now that ING has taken over KE, will I need to split this money again?

Yes you will, ING operates the passport system, which is greater tham our £50K protection, but look at what happened at Icesave not enough money in the kitty to pay it. Have a look at the ING website it will explain all, I think there is protection up to £77k per account, but do check.

I would be interested to know if anyone has yet managed to get any money out of Kaupthing since the weekend, I am now on my forth day and still no sign of any cash.

I am trying to be relaxed about the situation based on the fact the Goverment was involved in this takeover, and that ING is a very large bank with a reputation to keep.

Fingers crossed we all see our money very soon.

I also have a sum of money (40k) between KE and my linked account. It has been debited, so, like many here, my fingers (and legs) are firmly crossed. I wonder if ING will honour the fixed accounts at their current rates. I placed 30k on a 6 month fix 2 months ago.

Who would have thought an entire Country could be verging on bankruptcy. We do live in interesting times.

I have just managed to get through to Kaupthing customer service. I can confirm that no money has left KE since the weekend, this just confirmed what I already suspected. They were unable to provide any information relating to when we would recieve our money.

I can also confirm that at this stage there is no commitment to refund any bank charges we may have had applied to our linked accounts due to the delay in the transfer, or any loss of interest whilst our money has been held in the so called holding account.

It is clear to me that the customer support team are being kept in the dark as to what is happening.

Still worrying times ahead.
