As a banker, I agree that you should contact your creditors an discuss a payment plan that you can afford. TRight no wbanks are very happy that people are paying back their debts at all.

    Re: Help - In Debt!

My issue is that at the moment I am paying 200p/m to pay off my HBOS overdraft, which will we paid in around 3 months, and at the same time I will have to pay around 200p/m to pay my CDL in a week or two. I was hoping to get a loan where I could pay off all the debt and not have to pay off all my debts at one time, just have the one debt to deal with!

I would expect that any consolidation loan would be on worse terms than your carrer development loan. You should try to pay the other debts off first while keeping up the minimum payments on the CDL. The credit card is likely to have a high interest rate so anything spare should go there. It's always possible that your overdraft limit could be reduced with a couple of weeks notice so you need a plan in place in case that happens.

If you are struggling to keep up the minimum payments, you should discuss things with the lenders rather than looking for extra credit.

    Help - In Debt!

I need some advice: I have recently graduated from Uni and am working in a good job as a trainee accountant which is very secure, however, I have around 7k of debt in the form of

    CDL Loan - 4,440
    HBOS Student Account - 600
Clydesdale Bank Current Account - 2,000
Clydesdale Bank Credit Card - 500

I would like to consolidate all my debts somehow, but have a bad credit rating as when I was a student trying to finance my Postgrad I would often become overdrawn and have to pay penalties. I have tried to get a Virgin Credit card as well as a loan from the Clydesdale Bank but have been declined each time.

I need advice on which way to gather my debts so I only have to pay around 250 per month for 3 years, even though I have a poor credit rating will I actually get a deal like this? I am extremely lost!
