Help- Expat living abroad, with UK debt, in need of UK bank account

    Hi

I'm Really hoping somone has an idea as to what I can do.

The situation is we have debt in the uk and have entered a DMP with payplan. We need to move our money away from the Halifax, but are finding it difficult to open a bank account in the UK as we live in Greece. Ideally we would like a fee free account with a normal bank, but if we needed to take a Pre-paid card we would, but there are quiet a few to chose from and we are not sure they would suit us. We have a house in The UK which we rent, so this is the only income we have. can anyone suggest an account/prepaid card that we would be able to use for the rental income to paid into and a couple of DD to be paid from.

    Many Thanks

Unfortunatelt you wont be able to open a UK bank account without a UK address (is there a trusted friend or relative who might help? - you would need to get a bill sent to the address in your name and you would need to visit a UK branch in person).

Otherwise your options may be limited to an offshore account. All major banks offer this service from branches on the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
