Help appreciated: Which Windows registry cleaner?

I have just spent a couple of hours going through 'independent' reviews of Windows registry cleaners and now appreciate that one has to be very careful in this commercial field as all the 'independent' reviews seem to be by unknowns trying to flog their or get commission on a particular product. I also understand that these products can do more harm than good. Does anyone know a good one or real independent source of reviews? I have tried the obvious Google terms but drawn a blank. Thank you, drumster.

I am not an expert on this drummie old boy, but I have always found the free version of http://www.ccleaner.com/ to be more than suitable, with no problems.

I also run Spybot which is another free software to help get rid of adware and spyware.

Hey connie!:-)! Faster at first, now slowed down to near enough old speed but noticeably less errors. Should I be running anything else now? Thank you, young man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi --- Apart from manual regular cleaning of old temporary files by clicking tools > internet options then deleteing browsing history, cookies etc. I just run Ccleaner & Spybot at weekly intervals..... the rest of the time scan your system periodically with anti virus ...that seems to keep mine at an acceptable speed..
