Re: Heathrow Engine centre
Same we can't circulate to all poor sods affeted by these ***!. My sons car is currently with them and looking at these reports makes me gag and guess we are 60% though the process!. Like all of you we have paid up front, despite protesting, and now look forward - NOT - to the next phase, of I guess hopefully getting the car back, with a new engine!!!!. - NOT I guess. I am gonna see my next door neighbour with these many reports, he is chief superintendant of police in our area and see what his advice is. As someone has reported on here, the worry is that "they have all the aces!." They have our car, and even if we go down there with a low loader, they will "charge" what we've paid likely arguing to cover the costs so far?!. I feel such a pratt for getting involved with this gang of crooks, but am also feeling angry, sick and frustrated at not being able to go to someone to get resolved. I will report back after seeing my police neighbour. Has anyone been to the citizens advice bureau, or the police??. Hotrod11

Re: Heathrow Engine centre
Your neighbour could well be the answer to all our problems! I have also reported to the police and trading standards the formal way. Would be very keen to know how you get on and what advice you receive. I am certain if enough people reported the matter we would get closer to a satisfactory solution. Feel free to make contact.

Guys, Please refer to my posting of earlier today. I have contacted Consumer Direct and now have a reference number and await Ealing Trading Standards getting back to me. As said previously I will see my very local Chief Inspector tonight hopefully as to what to do next. I feel like hiring a truck and going down there and collecting the car and bits of engine, but! they have our money!!, they have the car, and as they say, they have all the aces!!. Can't believe how stupid we have been to hand over the money. I will update after my chat with our CI, but then yes I think we need to have a conference somehow. Hotrod11

What about multiple letters/ emails to Watchdog or Rogue Traders? Or maybe just draw their attention to this site and other forums. It was Watchdog who highlighted Heathrow Motors or whatever they were at the time a couple of years back. I had had my car back for just a few weeks (It had already developed a misfire) I sat down with a nice cup of tea to watch the Watchdog programme; I nearly blew a head gasket and choked on my tea! Shortly after my car actually did blow its head gasket (no tea involved) I agree that we have to find legal ways of addressing the problem, but surely bad publicity is also a useful tool here? How do I access your Google site?

I don't want to tell anyone what to do but I would personally go and get your car and the bits, that's what I did. (Refer to my earlier posts) Look at it this way; they already have some of your money no matter what you do; if they keep your car they will invariably find a way of getting more (they did with me). I would get it back before they do more damage and then try to recover whatever you can by whatever means (legal) you can. I got judgement against them in small claims court but they went into liquidation, maybe you can hit them before they do the same to you. If you go to get it back take support with you and a good camera to take photos of the bits they will throw in your boot.Do this discreetly once you are out of their premises (These bits will almost definately be knackered bits from another car,) they keep any servicable bits to flog on to another unsuspecting "customer". If I had known this at the time I would have realised what was happening and that there were actually bits taken off my car that did not need to be taken off to do the "work" they claimed they had done. Just think; "what evidence can I get"? get the car inspected by independant reputable garage or RAC / AA.

Re: Heathrow Engine centre
Check out "tradedrights" posts on this forum and log on to his Google discussion. The way I see it our options are any form of legal redress we can get and as much bad publicity as they deserve.

Re: Heathrow Engine centre
I have just recovered my car from Engine Warehouse. Speed - Aggression - Surprise. I walked up the workshop to look for my car after 6 weeks absence and was manhandled. I had my camera taken off me; they "phoned" 999 "for trespassing" I actually did phone 999 while I was with Paul and eight bully boys giving me a hard time, manhandling me and deleting photographs. Good result, as the 999 call as I was in voice contact during the entire time with a police officer and it is recorded by the police. I followed the police officer's advice and allowed myself to be frog marched to the reception. I completed my call to 999 and was rewarded with an incident number - always carry a pencil. Paul and Kevin walked me to my car 300m away right outside of Pink Elephant and left me. Paul had deleted the photos but I took more photos of their cripple yard along from Pink Elephant where they take sick and dying cars and engines. There are a lot of engines under plastic sheets, maybe yours is there. The Land Rover tow truck had a stoved in back and side window, hopefully a loving momento from a satisfied customer. My car is wrecked - I had an engine but it was installed at a surpising angle and there was kit in on the paasenger seat and in the boot - but I will follow Trading Standards advise and will have it assessed, get three estimates, and take them to the small claims court. I paid for a tow to get my car bak home. Two bits of good news - - A couple had just handed their car in and I told them the good news and I they managed to get it back. - Engine warehouse has made a big mistake - the battery in my sad recovered Peugeot had some tape marked "Subaru Empreza - N939NTC - Dave. I followed up my 999 call and my previous call to Southall Police - to indicate that I was safe and that my battery had been stolen. They will investigate. I will also be following Ealing Trading Standards advice - 0208 825 6888 - to get a technical inspection, have three estimates, send registered letters - probably three at weekly intervals - asking for my money back as per chapter and verse - and then take them to small claims court. It is difficult to "come out" when they still have your car, but now I have my car back, I want to join the club and ensure these crooks out of business and ensure that they cannot start another one.

I have now heard back from both the Trading Standards and the Police. I have a scheduled discussion with the police next week. Obviously, if anyone has anything they would like brought to the police's attention, I would happy to receive it. Otherwise, I strongly recommend you contact your police office yourselves and just let me know which police station you have reported it to so that they can coordinate and gather all the relevant complaints together. The trading Standards people have suggested that the most effective way of dealing with this is through the police. My impression is that the TS do not have the resources to deal with this type of problem. They have given me a name, direct line telephone number and reference number in case I can unearth other people who believe they have something to report to them such as selling items which are not fit for purpose, not durable etc. My contact details are in my profile and on teh google forum so if you would like to make contact, please feel free. Otherwise I suggest you report it yourself but if you could let me know to which police station you have reported it, it would be great.

Re: Heathrow Engine centre
To Hoppinmad: Please click on my identity in the left corner and get in touch or get in touch with your local police and just let us know which police station you have reported to. Then the police can gather all the relevant information. Q-man Evidence is just exactly what we need plenty of. If you would like to let me have any information so I can include in my discussions with the police, that would be great. If you are not comfortable with that, perhaps you would consider letting your local police know and just let us know to which station you have reported it. That would then enable them to pull al the information together. keefe you can click on my name in the left hand corner and get my contact details. Otherwise search in the UK Google groups for tradedrights. hotrod191 did you talk with your Police neighbour? We would be really interested to hear about it either on here or on my Google group (Please click on TradedRights in the left corner and see contact details.

Re: Heathrow Engine centre
Well done that man, it took nerve to do what you did, Is it possible that everyone in this forum has bits of each others cars? You have someones Subaru battery in your Peugeot, wonder who has my Rover's cylinder head? the one they left in my boot was not mine! By the the way was it Paul that marched you out? are you really sure? I believe on the third week of every month he morphs into Martin! Frankly if these people told me the world was round I would not believe them. Seriously well done, lets go get em.
