    I was not referring to the insurance company. I believe your MORTGAGE PROVIDER will require you to have insurance. BB

    Its best to ring these specialist landlord insurance companies direct Shahji to make sure you have exactly the right policy. And as BB stated, you really must inform your mortgage lender that you are no longer living at the property, but have in fact rented it out :-)

    On buying online there is no option as such & they ASSUME that I've occupied the house. I'll not hide it if they ask, but they never ask & presume it from their own that I'm occupying it on their own. Kindly help me in this issue!!!

    You may find that the mortgage company regards insurance as compulsory whether you are letting it or not. Are they aware you are letting? BB

    Not compulsory, but it is sensible. My rental properties are insured with Country Mutual.

    guidance required

    I've mortgaged my first home in morden & have rented it out. I need guidance on what type of insurance cover I shold take?? First of all is it COMPULSORY?? If yes, what type of cover I should look forward to since I've rencted my house?? What is the cheapest option insurance company where I shall go for since this is my 1st home insurance in UK & also my I'm rentingg out my property?? Regards
