    Re: getting paid when ill

    Hi WhiskyL,

Does your work not have statutory sick pay? Some companies are gracious and will pay you for all the days you are off ill. However they are only legally bound to pay you once you are ill for over 3 working days. After that, they have to pay you till a certain point (can't remember, but most companies have their own policies on this), upon which they will then start reduced pay.

What insurance do I need to take out to get paid if I have a week off work through illness

Self Insurance.. ..in the form of savings placed in the bank when you are working, they used to refer to the name as, "money for a rainy day". !

What insurance do I need to take out to get paid if I have a week off work through illness. My current insurance only pays out when off for a month. I was ill for a week recently and only go paid £34.
