    Re: Getting my deposit back

hi will, send a registered letter to the dealer asking for full refund if they refuse then report the matter to trading standards.
have you found the old problem of a dealer advertising a new vehicle at an unbeatable price, only to be told SORRY NO CARS LEFT AT THIS PRICE.
check some online dealers, you have more protection by law and they should be cheaper to buy(low overheads)
    hope this helps you.

    Re: Getting my deposit back

The first step is to phone up the dealer as soon as possible to ask them to cancel the order and return the deposit because of the misleading information that was given. The dealer will either say "yes" or "no". If they say "no", you can consider further options which could include involving trading standards or legal action or trying to reverse the transaction through your bank.

For future reference, you need to apreciate that salesmen's main task is to sell things, or at least get a deposit and/or signature before the customer has had the oportunity to think things through properly. Being honest often comes low of their list of priorities.

    Getting my deposit back

    Hi gus,

I've been looking for a new car for a while now and I finally found one I wanted and can afford. I went to dealer and test drove the car but I couldnt buy it there and then as the dealer's system was down. He rang me the next day and said there were no new cars available right now in the UK and I'd have to order one so I put down a £200 deposit over the phone. I then rang another dealer a little bit further away and he said he had access to loads of the car I wanted! How do I go about getting my deposit back from the first dealer? I haven't signed any finance paperwork yet so they shouldn't have ordered the car for me. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers
