Re: Getting a long term loan with low income?

You really need to talk to a debt adviser at your local Citizens Advice Bureau. They will be able to discuss options for getting you out of your current situation.

Most high street banks do make an effort to be responsible lenders and that is why they are rejecting your applications. Wonga is not a responsible lender so they will happily take all of your salary each month and leave you with nothing to live on. Through the Citizens Advice Bureau it should be possible to negotiate a settlement of the Wonga loan and then you can start using your salary for "general living". Certainly borrowing more will not help your debt problems.

Getting a long term loan with low income?

I am currently looking to getting a loan to consolidate some debts but Im starting to think its not possible?

I want to borrow 500-1000 £'s between 1 and 4 years. I have a part time job, earn £6500 a year and living at home with my parents not paying any rent/board to live.

I thought I'd try my bank first, but to borrow you must be earning £10,000 a year first because "they are responsible lenders".

I have applied at another bank and no reply yet, but Im expecting the same thing to happen, must be earning _____ to get loan bla bla.

I tried a website, the unsecured loan company.com or something... but when they called me they asked lots of questions, said I was accepted almost immediately but then asked me to log onto the website and pay a £60 fee to get the money, to which alarm bells started ringing in my head and I said I had to re-consider the loan. When I got on google there were lots of bad reviews about them being a scam! That was the end of that!

Does anyone know or have any experience with a bank or loan company that are TRUSTED who could help me in my circumstances? It seems you either have to be earning much more or you have to turn to payday loans which I don't want to do particularly because they can't help me in the long term. My debt is partly down to using wonga and getting stuck in a borrowing loop with them that I can't get out of... I am currently spending £500 every month to borrow under £400 and I never fail to pay but I have too keep borrowing to pay an outstanding council tax fee and for general living.

Does anyone have any advice for me? Many thanks! xxxxxxxxxx
