Goodday. I would like a reference for getting a 3rd party vehicle insurance for a VW Touareg 2004 model being imported from the USA. I need this for customs purpose and to drive the vehicle in UK on a temporary import basis. I am not a UK citizen but i come often and own a home here hence my need for a car. I beleive after this i'll be able to get a permanent insurance cover for the vehicle or so i was told. Can u pls help?

If the car has US plates, you can drive it here for up to 6 months but your insurance options may be limited to US insurers who will cover you to drive overseas. To keep it here after 6 months, you need to complete the import procedure which includes getting UK plates and then you wont have too many problems getting cover from a UK company.
