    Thanks for the link - I downloaded a small file that allows me to read GED files

    When you say needs a converter, do you mean it is in an older format GED file that cannot be read by your software?

    There are a few freeware GEDCOM viewers that you can download but I can't vouch for their functionality.

    I am trying to "read" a .GED file which needs a converter - but I can't seem to find a freebie that works under Vista - anyone help ?
