    Re: gas direct debit

im sure it wasnt because you wanted to change suppliers, did you work out your monthly consumption and then add a twelth of your debt onto that, was that around the figure they wanted on your dd, and besides it takes 28 days at least to change suppliers, this i know for a fact.as for a letter of appologie that also takes upto 28 days as the people that you talk to on the phone have to send your acc away to have a letter made up for you.

    Re: gas direct debit

I'm sick of British Gas. Not only did they want to double my monthly payment, when I tried to change to another cheaper supplier they objected saying I still owed them money - 6 working days AFTER I  cleared the debt. They  have completely c...ed up the transfer over and haven't even had the grace to apologise.

dont hold your breath on that dd at £50. i know that they will re-assess your cps (customer payment scheme) within the next 3 months and put it back up to what ever it needs to be to cover your consumption and your outstanding balance, you feel like you got a deal on the reduction but do you have any idea of how much your actually spending on gas per year????????? thats how you'll know what your dd should really be. phone them ask them for your last years worth of bills, work it out for yourself its not so hard.

    Re: gas direct debit

read your meter and phone in your reading, get them to re-assess your payment scheme manually and not using the computer, or you could do it yourself if you have your last 4 or 1 years worth of bills to hand, work out how much you have used (not paid but used) and work out over how many days, then devide the £'s youve used by the days that they cover and you've got your daily consumption, times that by 365 (days in a year) and devide by 12 (months in a year) then look at how much you still have outstanding and devide that by 12 and add the two lots of results together, email me if your not sure and give me your bills and dates and ill help you work it out.

Time to use the comparison site to see if you can get a cheaper supplier, if you pay by monthly direct debit and manage your account online you may find you can get a reduction on what you are currently paying.
