We have £5k deposit and are looking to borrow between £90 - £100k.

We're meeting a broker tomorrow but thought we'd get some "profesional advice" from here first ;-)

My salary isn't enough to cover the whole mortgage and bills however the combined income between the 2 of us is more than enough to cover both the projected mortgage and projected monthly outgoings eg bills etc.

It's not beyond the realsm of possibility.

You'll need a deposit - that's pretty much true for everyone these days.

From there, it depends how much mortgage you need - maybe it's 'getable' on just your income.

Or maybe there will be lenders that can cope with her kind of temporary.

Really, i'd suggest you see a mortgage broker - actually, as it can be tricky to see just how good a broker is, I would suggest you see a number of brokers until you are satisfied that you can or can't geta mortgage.

I would say there is no broker who can say he knows everything, so don't be disheartened by a 'no'. Just move on.

FTB - Looking for mortgage whilst in Temp employment

Hi, kinda hoping someone can help. Me and my girlfriend have seen a property which we both like. However we do not have a mortgage in place yet and my girlfriend is in an "ongoing Temporary position" which, she is almost guaranteed to be kept on. I have a secure job and a secure income (as is hers although it is temporay) but we doubt we will be able to get a mortgage.

The property we have seen is a reposession and has been on the market for 4 - 5 months and we think we can get it at a very good price.

    Thanks in advance!
