I am looking for the best contract to text from France while I am there...I spend some time there but using my normal tariff is expensive. Anyone know of a cheap/best UK tariff ?

Your best option is going to be to buy either a phone or a sim card in France. Second best option is to look for a "global sim card" - have a google. The most expensive option will be to use the roaming facility for a UK service provider.
