    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

Just stumbled across this looking for their website to complain to!

I was told my contract was at an end an agreed to a new one however it wasn't and have had to pay for two phone contracts for the past two months. Have sent a letter of complaint but not heard anything will gladly help with info if anyone needs it for paper.

You may be interested to know that these jokers have a full page advert in the local (Swansea) newspaper offering jobs (june 3rd 2009) and pointing out their charitable deeds!!!

I'm interested about your Mirror investigation and would like to know more as I have info they could use.

Let me know - new to this forum stuff so I'll try and post an email for contact in my details ASAP.

Once you are logged in go to the 'News and Community' Tab and under the 'Edit Your Community Profile' button enter details under 'email' - I know, it long drawn out and ther'e no apparent instructions anywhere I just kept trying! You get the opeion to show a public email address and your private one is greyed out and invisible to other members. I'd advise setting up a free account (like I did) separate from your day to day account as you don't know who could be on the forums.

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

I got scammed by Free Mobiles 4 U too. They gave me a nine-month half price contract, but it was only half price for six months. They then told me to send in my bills for the remaining three months and would get a cheque. It never arrived. I phoned countless times and got a different story each time, usually the cheque was in the post ... for months and months (!) ... when I asked for a fax or email to confirm the cheque was in the post I was told the 'admin department' wasn't working so email and fax were temporarily out of order (!). They then said I would get the cheque when my contract was up after 18 months. Naturally - no cheque - despite all my calls. One of the main culprits is someone called Danny Rees, who lies very glibly. He tells me the MD is Gareth Falcon, then Charles Falcon, then Gareth Falcon. They are brothers, apparently, and it is hopeless trying to find out who is in charge of the operations (ie who to sue). Offcom told me to take them to the small claims court, but you can only do that if you know who the managing director is.

I am very interested to know if the newspaper investigation is still under way? I would also be happy to include my experiences. s

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

I have just spotted all these posts whilst doing a search on the internet for the company after phone calls to them have got me nowhere. Am in the same position as everyone else and am stuck paying for multiple contracts as foolishly believed them when they said they would refund my bills until my current contract expired.

I haven't cancelled my direct debit as can not afford to have a bad credit rating. Would love to know how you are getting on with the newspaper and if anything is going to be investigated. I think I have to put this down to experience and never be fooled again but it is worrying to think that companies are getting away with this!!

I can't find your public email address??

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

I have today received a cheque from Free Mobiles 4 U. The full amount was meant to be for £130 but I got a cheque for £96.00 which is three months worth of 3 Mobile bills rather than the original agreement of them paying three months worth of O2 bills. Suprisingly the cheque was from Daniel Rees! This was only because my firm had drafted legal papers ready to issue if they didn't not pay - has anyone thought of a group legal action against Free Mobiles 4U if the newpaper thing doesn't take off. Seven months have gone by and i now only have the money.

    Hello

That is good news. Once the cheque clears then yes I would be interested in group legal action. Would your firm be interested in taking this forward??

    Who else would be interested?

    Elaine

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

I would be definately up for this. Sorry I have not been back in touch sooner.
Sounds like the newspaper thing has fallen through, apparantly due to our conversion on this forum site.
The investigator claims the people in question will read these and will be expecting an investigator down.... I just don't think he had thee heeart to tell me he wasn't interested. Anyway I have not heard from him for weeks so it looks like the best course of action is this whole legal thing...
Have managed to get another huge newspaper interested (despite these forum postings!) so hopefully if this legal thing comes about we can appeal for more people nationwide.

Hope to hear from you soon.
    Thanks
    Mark

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

I would be happy to join in with the legal action if people want to get it going. Always more chance of an outcome if there are a significant number of us.

Let me know anything you need from me for this.

    Thanks. Jo
