    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

Hi there, I thought I would post here. My wife recieved a call from from 3M4U claiming to be from three ( my wife had just been offered an upgrade ) and offering her to continue her phone insurance at a cheaper rate. The caller (Name: David) said that it would be added monthly to her three bill. He advised that she would recieve all the paerwork in the post to look over. Guess what, no paperwork and £79.99 was taken from our bank account. On the statement it says www.3m4u.co.uk. The website does not exist and no luck with phoning either. This amount was not discussed or authorised by my wife. My wife has had to cancel her card and it is now with the Fraud team at our bank. I fully suppor what you are doing Mark as these poeple need to be stopped....Thanks Robin

    Hello all

Just thought i would let you know an update. I emailed a national newspaper a while ago and heard nothing. I have an email today asking for all of my details so that they can investigate it. If you can reply to me with your contact details then I will pass them on.

Mark you have a few of the email addresses if you can pass this on.

    I will keep you informed.

Hey people. Nick from the Mirror has been in contact so I passed him all of your contact details on (hope you don't mind).
Glad to hear he is on the case with this. He asked me to forward the list of complaints and any other contacts I had, and to wait for further contact from him. Will keep you updated.
    Thanks.

    Hi everyone,

My wife has been scammed by these people too. She's just phoned me in tears at the way they've spoken to her. Please feel free to contact us and we'll be more than happy to help. She took some names and details and, unsurprisingly, Daniel seems to be a point of contact!!

    Thanks

    Lee

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

    Hi Keeley.

I too cancelled my direct debit and went through Trading Standards and Ofcom, they were both really of little help.

After a few months passed having cancelled the Direct Debit I received a letter from a 'telecoms debt collection agency'.
Don't be fooled, these are not a stand alone company, but are actually working through 3. Basically their contact number traces back to a 3 call centre, so it seems to me they are posing as this debt collection agency, when really it is just 3 pushing for your payments.
Although, dont hold me to that, I do not know what kind of powers they have (i.e. giving your future credit rating a black mark etc).

As you have probably read in previous posts, I contacted the Mirror investigators who I believe are investigating them at the moment (although I have heard nothing back from then since last contact around a month ago.)

Keep in touch with your progress (if you have any!) and let us know what your Trading Standards officer says.
    Thanks

    Mark

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

    ** IMPORTANT **

Just received a call from 3 customer services. They explained they had looked into my complaint and basically asked me for proof that '3mobiles4u/3mobiles4you/3mobilesforyou/3mobilesforyou' had said they would refund the money if I could provide proof that is what we agreed (how the hell am I supposed to prove something which was said over the phone??).
Basically the outcome was, the assistant explained if enough people were to complain about this particular company they would take action against them and shut them down.
This may be the way to go... If as many people as possible complain to 3 about the company and ask 3 to take action against them maybe we will get somewhere?
    So get complaining!

I also received a reply from Nick at the Daily Mirror Investigations. He said he has been very busy but is starting investigating them from early next week.

    Keep in touch
    Thanks
    Mark

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

    Hi Mark

Do you know who it was at 3 you spoke to. When I complained to them going back to 2008 they actually spoke to free mobiles who confirmed to them that this cashback/ line rental refund was due to me, how much it was and when it would be paid. They have this on my phone record so I do have proof that this was the promise. Unfortunately they will not take it any further as when they queried it again, Free mobiles said they had no record of the money being due. Even though their own records show this has been confirmed.

If you do have any names I will call them and complain again!

    Thanks

    Elaine

Fingers crossed when free mobiles get nicks call they will pay up!

    Re: Free Mobiles 4U

    Elaine,

Sorry I didn't get a name, to be honest I am so sick of dealing with them I just told him I wasn't bothered what he had to say, and that I/we would deal with the company ourselves.

Yes, hopefully Nick will come up trumps with enough evidence/complaints to bury this bunch of freeloaders.

I am so looking forward to my contract ending so I can phone up and tell them what I really think of them....

    Keep in touch.
    Thanks
    Mark
