    Ford Focus reg. October 2007

The outside casing of my petrol cap has always been stiff to shut, last Friday when filling up with fuel, I broke it off when trying to close it. When approaching my Ford dealer, I was advised this would not be covered under the warranty as I could not prove I had broken it when filling up with fuel as opposed to pushing past it. When the new one was fitted at my expense, the new casing has a completely different spring to the original one making it very easy to close. This is my 3rd new Ford and I have always previously been very satisfied with their customer care, but I have been left very dissilusioned. Do you think I have a case to go further than my dealer ?

Hi -- As usual when you get no joy from the dealers go over their heads and contact customer services at Ford UK, you will find they are more willing to help keep customers satisfied, especially as it's still under warranty.
