    First Direct Mortgages-anyone?

    Hi,

I am trying, like many, to remortgage and to try and find a decent rate to fix on, I have been to a couple of Independent brokers and have had very different results, Just to cover all bases I spoke to First Direct, after doing a search on here.

They have come back with (what seems) a very good offer; 5.95% fixed for 3 years, fees are £598 plus an £180 Valuation fee.

Basically this is 0.34% better and £40 a month cheaper then the best brokers quote and will only cost me £80 more to purchase then the other offers.

My questions are is this a good offer? has anyone out there brought this product? and how are FD to deal with about mortgages?

This is my first remortgage and I am quite nervous about purchasing this offer without a broker, I would welcome any advise or experience you have had with this product.

    Thank you

    Hola!

    Re: First Direct Mortgages-anyone?

    HI there

I have been with FD for a mortgage in the past and also bank with them. My personal experience is that they are very easy to deal with in all aspects of banking. The mortgage application process was very straightforward (although that was a few years ago). I am also considering them for a remortgage when my time comes round soon.

I was on their offset product at the time, and their online banking system makes it really easy to see whats going on.

    Hope that helps.
