    Hmm [^o)] family issues

Hi there, got a bit of a deliema, my partner and I are going through a rough patch and he's being the biggest ass, ever the problem is that he asked me to stop work and take care of the kids because we could afford to live on his wages which I did( stupid trusting me and thinking he's my husband he meant well), anyhow I'm unemployed with two kids and we're constantly bickering so we've decided to take a break on things which means the agreement we made is now broken and he no longer wants to give me any moneys to supprt myself which I need because I'm unemployed can't claim any benefits (another long story) and our kids are <5, and not to mention can't get a job overnight and child care is a KILLER,

Anyho my question is does anyone know if there is any solicitors out there that gives free 30mins sessions, I was told to ther is and to look but can't find, Legal aid can't assist because they don't deal with this issue unless it's a court matter. Or is there anyone/anything I can do besides court that can assist with this. Or basically any Advice

    Hi trinee29,

My recommendation would be to contact your nearest Citizens Advice Bureaux, they should be able to provide some initial guidance.

You are mistaken you can claim Income Support as a lone parent, provided you can prove you are actually separated from your partner even though you live at the same address.

You should also claim Child Tax Credits and Child Benefit, these are ignored in Income Support calculations.

    Good luck.
