Hi, my loan company was LOANS4SURE,but i've had dealings with the loan people limited before they told me i had been accepted, and had to pay 50quid in which i was desbrate for the money so i stupidly said yes and paid it, but when i recieved paperwork the loan they found for me was with FLM LOANS but it was one that you need a guarantor of which i told the advisor i spoke to that i would not be able to get one, si in my eyes they mis-sold the loan and did not listen to me,so i was disappointed as i could not pay my debts of, BUT if you put in writing that you are not happy with the service i think by rights they have to give your money back, im in the process of trying to get my 50quid back from LOANS4SURE but not having much luck yet. Has this loan company told you that you have been accepted for the loan?

Under section 155 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, a consumer is entitled to a refund (less £5) of the fee paid to a credit broker if for any reason the consumer does not enter into a relevant agreement within six months of an introduction to a source of credit or hire. You need to quote this part of the act and demand the return of your money by recorded delivery.

I really cant believe that so many people just give their card details over the phone without checking what they are doing. I think its called greed because you want a loan These compnaies act as a broker, that means they search all the companies they can to find a loan for you. They are not lenders . If you cant be bothered to find a loan for yourself then why moan when you agree to pay someone to search for you. They have six months to find a loan for you and have to refund you your money barr £5 if they dont. Wise up , some of you guys have no-one to blame but yourselves. If they found a loan for you but you needed a guarantor . THEY STILL FOUND A LOAN FOR YOU. The compnay isn't fake or a fraud it just sells a service to people who really cant get a loan because they either cant be bothered to go through proper channels or their credit report is very low. Some of the people on this blog are just like sheep you all say the same thing . If you dont want the service then dont buy it . If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. If you know your credit report is crap then why do you think someone can find you a loan.

Compliance Lady, thanks for another 'useful' post. This forum is to help people, not have a go. Why are you a member of this price comparison site? Aren't you just too lazy to look for the information available yourself?

Ok everyone..
I nearly got caught out by these people but after reading the posts on here which I am very happy I did I wont be giving them a penny.
They made out on the phone that I had been approved for a loan all sounds so good, also I can confirm on my application I also have the dodgy date of birth on the second applicant this has been mentioned on here 22/03/1993 this must be fraudulent,
I wont be giving them any money what I will be giving them is a hard time until they are closed down and I wont to also see that this procedure is made unlawful.
I have also contacted the OFT and Trading standards regarding this as two of these companies took advantage of my mother who is in her 50's, in a financially vulnerable state as her shop is not doing so well because of the credit crunch for over 100 pounds between them, promises of loans which wont happen with no chance of refund.
Needless to say I am far from happy that I am seeing posts as far back as sept last year and they are still able to get away with this.
What are OFT and trading standards thinking..??
I think in someways these need to also be held to account for not acting quicker.. arent these people supposed to regulate this.
Firstly for anyone wanting the loans4sure number straight off the press today on a pre-approved application are there details:
Funny there are three different numbers on the form all priority lines:
lenders: 0800 280 0560
Why not get your family to sign up (yeah right) give them a call on 0800 280 0990
Or contact them on 0870 950 9568
Fax number: 0870 950 9569
email: info AT loans-4-sure.co.uk
Lastly people have mentioned Section 155 Consumer credit act 1974
1.1 Under section 155 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, a consumer is entitled to a refund (less £5) of the
fee paid to a credit broker if for any reason the consumer
does not enter into a relevant agreement within six months of an introduction to a source of credit or hire.
Do you have to wait six months for this to take affect I am concerned that these companies wont be trading by then and so a refund will not be able to be given.
I would say that they wont be trading by then as I am taking this to downing street, OFT, trading standards, FSA.

Hi Guys, I have been in a similar position, I was contacted by these guys back in Early Feb, I was looking for a loan at the time and these guys actually offered me a better rate than that of my Bank so I thought I'd give it a go. I paid the 49.99 they asked for at the time I saw no problem with this. The day after I recieved the paperwork and saw the fake date of birth in the second applicant, this would have made that person just over 18 years old..!!! I contacted them immediately and they said this was an error. Later I did a google search and found this forum.... shock horror everyone here seems to of been duped by these guys, I immediately cancelled the agreement, and as per there terms and conditions if you cancel in the first 7 days you are entiteled to a full refund, I got a letter with one week telling me I would get the refund to my card within 28 days, Well the 28 days came and went with no refund and as the letter stated you could not contact the refunds department by phone I duly emailed them, with no reponse. I then contacted the Stockport Trading Standards and Consumer Direct, They took on my case and gave me the right advise. I sent Trading standards copies of all the documentation that I had recieved from these guys and they are going to investigate this fully as I am not the only complaint they have recieved. I have since checked my credit report and not one credit check has been done on me since I applied through this company, so there is no way they are doing what they say..!!!! Yesterday I check my bank account and I have been refunded the fee...!!! Minus £5 alothugh I was told I would recieve a full refund I am going to let the £5 ride as I can't be bothered with all of the mess over a fiver, I contacted trading standards and they have asked me if they can still use my documents as evidence in the enquires, I naturally said yes they can, I hope this will help to shut the loosers down.... On another note I have been contacted by BBC Watchdog and they have asked if needed would I be willing to do a full interview for there programme and I have agreed to do so.... So hopefully this company will get the bad press they deserve..!!!

Well done for reporting them. I have been hoping someone would join me with reporting them to Stockports Trading Standards. I am one of the other people who have supplied them with the original paperwork sent to me by the loans people/loans 4 sure (apparantly one and the same) showing fake dates of birth as second applicant. I also had an indepth conversation with consumer direct who have taken up my case as well. I have sent several recorded delivery letters demanding my money back and they ring me back apologising and say that "it is their error, as i have sent no signed paperwork and have actually not signed anything at all, my refund will be back in my account within 3 - 5 working days". There is still no sign of the money arriving but i will not ever give up trying. Compliance Lady - there is no need for your post on this forum at all - unless as has been already stated you work for the loan company !!!!!!

HA Ha Ha very funny, did it take you all night to think that up? The site is to search for the best deals around and yes I search for myself but dont engage the first company I speak to and I definately dont give my card details over the phone. If I dont want to buy something I say so or put the phone down. I am on this site as I am a consumer as well, but I also give advice about legal issues. But some people just dont help themselves sometimes the companies are not always to blame and just agreeing with someone because they are a consumer so they MUST be right is a silly attitude to take. There is plenty of help out there for consumers to get refunds and expose companies that are really ripping people off, but if a person is silly enought to give their debit card details over the phone without getting the papwerwork first then what do you expect?

ok can i just point out one thing there are thousands of people that use loans4sure every week and get loans from them, just because a handful of people on this group have not received loans from then doesnt mean they are a con, it clearly means that you lied in your application which i did, but as they say on the phone its not garanteed but i have been accepted based on what i had told them so it was all my fault, i accept that what they say is very well worded but im sure every company is the same so we cant win
