    Re: Express Match

Unfortunatly there are a lot of people that are taken in by these scum bags. My mother is 80 years old & unfortunatly very trusting of people who tell her they can get more money for her items than she can. Good news for her though, she reported it to the bank & they sent her a claim form to try & get the money back as she has her cards insured. On phoning the bank today she found out that the £180 has been put back into her account through the insurance. She is now under very strict instructions not to get involved in anything unless me or my sisters check it out first & if anyone calls to put the phone down.

    Re: Express Match

My mother has recently been taken for £180 by Express Match for 'selling' her mobility scooter (because they had people waiting) & her bed. Despite her cancelling within 7 days and several attempts to get the money refunded she hasn't seen a penny of her money back. She was contacted by phone by a representitive called Arthur after advertising in the Portsmouth Evening News. On contacting the paper she discovered that they knew nothing about this company and that's when she tried to cancel it. Even the bank didn't see any reason that it could be a fraud so released her money. We have now contacted Watchdog & would advise others to do the same to make more people aware of these theives.

    Re: Express Match

I must be one of the lucky ones - I received my cheque yesterday for £70!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

There was a compliments slip attached and signed by Olivia - maybe worth asking for her in future?!

There was one weird thing though - it had no postage paid no it?! no stamp, no franking mark, nothing!!! Was it hand delivered? Did they just manage to get it through the postage system without paying? Who knows!!

It's a bit wrong though that they'll give your money back but not pay for postage - wonder if that's where everyone elses refund is, stuck in the system because they haven't paid postage!!

I've had loads of calls form similar companies since my express match experience and I simply say "not interested" and put the phone down - never going to get sucked in again like that!!!!

Good luck everyone with getting your money back!!

    Hey there Linsay......

Yeh its good to hear updating to this company. For 1. I really hoped you got somewhere linsay. but to be honest with you. i wasnt holding my breathe for you.. Hey would you believe i went threw similar. and guess what.? I still havent recieved my money either.. And the thing is linsay, i was staring to get a bit annoyed and stressed with them, then i thought. You know what, i hope that the people in this company sleeps well.( somehow i think that they do anyway. God there getting paid to do this arent they..?) and that, what goes around linsay, comes back to bite them.. God, i tell you i will be one of the first to take my hat off and congradulate them when they succeed.!!! I, linsay, would love to see this company publicised, brought down to earth with a bang.. And just watch and listen, to there excuses.!! But you know what also............

Express match..is gonna be one of these companies, that will be affected with the big old credit crunch, and then there will be nothing of them, and POOF! there goes our cash...!! and theres not a thing we can do about it..

On sitting thinking about it linsay, none of us are going to get our money back..........!! I just cant believe i was stupid enought to do it..!!!

I am continuing on my efforts to get my money back.. however, nothing as yet.. But, like yourself, keep you's posted...! GOOD LUCK

    Re: Express Match

    Well all - update time!

Today is day 10 when my 'full' refund should be in my account - surprise surprise - it's NOT!!!! grrrrr

Just called and spoke to Olivia Jones who explained they no longer have my bank details but the refund has been approved - she'll send a cheque out straight away - hmmmmm, we'll see if I have it by the end of the week.

Next bombshell - "refund value of £70" - erm, excuse me, I paid £79.95 - her response - "well the notes said we forwarded details of your car to 4 buyers but we then had to contact them again to say not to contact you - that's probably why you were still charged £9.95". I told her that when I spoke to Customer Services to cancel it, I was told it hadn't even been released yet so how could they have sent my details when it hadn't been released?! She said I'd have to dispute the £9.95 via email to them as she wasn't able to add the £9.95 to the check refund amount.

Is this company for real??? I just told her to send me the cheque!

Will provide next update when (if at all) I get my cheque!!

(have already completed the online claims form should they muck me about anymore - just need to submit it!)

    Re: Express Match

    Hi jaggerspider

I'm posting this hoping it will appear not just as a reply to you but all over this site because I've just received a call stating the same crap as all the other unfortunates i.e. telling me that a one off charge of £99.95 will be charged but £90.00 of this will be refunded WHEN the car I have for sale is sold and that people are interested and if I make a payment I will receive emails within half an hour from them. Katie was the "lady" 's name and it sounded too good to be true to me so I told her that I would ring her back because I needed some time to think about it. As soon as I hung up I did a quick search on google and found a host of complaints and warnings not just on this site but on various other sites. This made up my mind for me and when she caled me back I said no thank you and she asked why. I told her I checked on the internet and all I saw was a load of complaints that her company was a scam. She told me that I should have looked at their website and checked that instead and then said "good luck with selling your car" in a not very nice manner and hung up. Thanks to people like you I have been saved €130 in our money in Ireland so I am extremely thankful but also disappointed for you and others that scumbags like this get away with this type of carry on. If you know of anywhere else I can inform people about this I would be more than interested to let more people know

Yeah I just got done by them aswell. They got me when I was at work, said they seen my add in a local paper. When they told me they had loads of people in the area looking for the same van as I had for sell I was delighted. So gave them my details. That was on friday. Told me people would be ringing me within the hour about the van. No call's all weekend so on the monday I rang them again and they promised me loadsa people would be ringing me...Googled them today and found all this...I'm sick! Cancelled my credit card so they couldn't take anymore money off me...

Hopefully other people will google them before they sign up...

    Re: Express Match

GORDYS GAL -- In your case now you have written with a valid refund claim and used every reasonable means to try secure the return of your money (their total failure to respond will be seen by the courts as unreasonable to start with.!), consider issuing a money claim with the online courts service. It will cost you £30 to issue proceedings, but they will have to pay these costs on top of returning your money once the courts issue a repayment order and a judgement against the firm.

    Re: Express Match

    Hi there all..

I would just like to say a few words..........

Earlier on i was caught with them also. Had been explained from them when i eventually got threw to them after a couple of days calling. That i should had called back within the hour to cancel transaction and get my money refunded. Now.... for whatever this is worth.. its absolute crap.. You know everytime i here this has happened to someone else, it makes me sick to think how they are getting away with this......

I had alot of input from people on here and some guidance on how to go threw the Distance Selling Regulations.. I have wrote letters ( also copied and dated), I made a statement on here 13th August about this company. Conmankiller advised of this selling regulation..On the 13th of this month, still to this day i have not heard a word from EXPRESS MATCH.. Nor have i had any calls regarding the Disability Recliner Chair i had for sale.. Does that surprise ye!!..? No.. Nor me.......

Im sick, thinking that this company IS getting away with murder.....Now i work for a Digital Television Company, and with accepting payment for purchase, i know that payment can be cleared same day..However may not be taken until a few days later, but the bank will hold the money until asked for. However, it does take at least 7 working days to return the money if taken unlawfully etc....... This company doesnt even acknowledge you after the money is in there grasp........!!!!!!! You know i can kiss goodbye to that money of £99.95 i paid... But this will not stop them.. sooner or later they will become bust, and apart from them loosing everyone else will be too.... This is such a shame, for the public to be conned like this. That if there are legitimate companies out there like this they will not be trusted..!! This little Miss, will not be caught again....lol..........As soon as i hear a good thing for me over the phone, unless ive contacted them, the phone WILL go down....... But this will go on....... I feel it............. Just dont be the next.................

    Re: Express Match

Thanks JeffEllis - thankfully my brother is a faster thinker than I am - I have cancelled my credit card & also contacted Express Match within and hour of the original call to cancel and they said I could have a full refund so I emailed them to confirm - they said I should get the money in 7-10 working days!

I even told them why I was cancelling (because of this thread) and she said she'd put me over to customer services so I told her I'd rather she dealt with my problem there and then rather than transferring me and putting me on hold for ages as I'd heard their customer service team was 'non-existent' to put it politely!! Obviously shocked her a bit as I was dealt with immediately.

Let's just hope it's back in my account or I'll be going to the Office of Fair trading!!!

Got a pounding headache now but so thankful I saw this thread in time!!!!!

    Re: Express Match

Sorry to hear that these gangsters have ripped off another unsuspecting victim LinsayJ. Don't be embarrassed about it though. It's not the trustfullness of people that is shameful; it's the deviousness of people undermining that trust.

It's so frustrating when it happens. A word of advice though. I would consider blocking your credit card used for this 'transaction', otherwise, the so-and-so's may revisit your account under the guise that they have your permission to take further actions in the 'sale'.

For example, I was contacted months later by these swine, telling me that they had a buyer lined up. I niaively thought that this was an opportunity to recoup my initial loss, and, like a twit, agreed for them to proceed. As soon as I put the phone down, I realised that they had not asked me for my card details again, so they must have stored them digitally. I immediately cancelled the debit card, and, qu'elle surprise, they didn't get back in touch with me even though they had assured me that they would 'definitely' sell the item within the next three hours.

Hope you can sort it out.

    Re: Express Match

Oh man!!! I've just been had too!!!! :(

Literally only about 30 mins ago - even tried calling my credit card company to see if I could intercept the payment and cancel it - no luck!!!

Haven't received my 'receipt' yet via email even though he said he'd sent it whilst I was on the phone.

Guess I can kiss £79.95 goodbye!

DAMN!!! Like so many others, I never fall for these kind of things - until now, obviously!

    grrrrrr
