    Hi,

This is standard practice for developers to issue the deadline to try and force exchange as soon as possible.

If there is a good reason for the delay and they can see you are making progress they will not pull out of the transaction, especially in the current climate were the newbuilds aren't selling like they used to.

if all information and paperwork is in place i cannot see why it would take 4 weeks ?

Call them and explain the situation and let them know you may take your business elsewhere , who may get it done quicker,.

Other than that just make sure your solicitors are on the ball as well , when the mortgage does come through

    Exchange of contract deadline-FTB

    Hello help needed please!!

We have just had an offer accepted on a house, the people who we are buying their house off are moving into a new build so technically the building company are the sellers. After waiting four days for the offer to be accepted last Friday they have given us a deadline of 27th to exchange contracts by or the deal is off. We have spoken to our mortgage company (we sent all the details through last Friday and it has been processed on their system) and they have said that it takes between 20-25 to get the offer of loan-this is already cutting it fine and after speaking to them today they have said it will be four weeks.

Is there any way to get this moving quicker or is that the standard time it takes to process a mortgage-as we are starting to panic!

    Thanks
