    Re: Electoral Roll

Thanks, I got the info about the 1st December from the BBC when they were talking about a possible early election a few months ago. They said that the main electoral roll update is on 1st December.

Let's hope my council is efficient!

    Re: Electoral Roll

It is not as quick as you may think. The Electoral Role gets updated once every year and this can lead to long periods between the credit agencies getting it and you physically moving in. If you notify the council (as you should) when you move, and the Electoral Role office gets its finger out, you can reasonably expect the agencies to have the data between two and three months after you move in. Having said that, there are no hard and fast rules here and if you are lucky enough to live in an area that has an efficient council with good administration, you may find you are updated within a matter of a couple of weeks. There are usually four 'bulk' updates done each year, but again, this is not written in blood.

    SHARK!

    Electoral Roll

    Hi

I moved into a new place in September and updated my details with the council to be put on the electoral roll. I understand that usually the information is passed on to the credit reference agencies either straight away or on 1st December when they do a large scale update. Does anyone know how long it takes for Equifax? If it is 1st December how long should I wait before checking my credit file to make sure I am on the electoral roll?

    Thanks
