Re: E On and Storage Heaters

    Hi jennieannc

I'm sorry you've been unhappy with the responses we've given you in the past.

From what you've said, it sounds as though you have a Heatwise meter. These meters are specifically designed for all electric properties with storage heaters. They give 10 hours of water and storage heating per day at cheaper rates. This is split into three separate blocks in the afternoon, evening and night.

These meters usually have four or five readings.

However, from your post, it doesn't seem you are using this to the best effect. It also looks as though we've given you some very poor advice.

To benefit from Heatwise, a significant proportion of your usage should be within the afternoon/evening/night periods. Yet you say, the night/evening readings haven't changed.

The Saveonline tariff you were told about is unsuitable for this meter. You will not be receiving any of the Saveonline discounts with a Heatwise meter.

You need to talk to us about this asap. Check I'm correct about your type of meter and, if I am, ask to go on the correct tariff.

Again, I'm sorry you've been given poor advice in the past but hope this helps point you in the right direction. Give me a shout if I can help further as will be happy to do so. Drop an email to the address in my Biography if you prefer.

    Malc

    E On and Storage Heaters

    Hi,

We just had our first electricity bill through for E On.

We have 5 meter readings for our meter which is confusing!

We have a night/evening meter that hasn't changed since we moved in.

    Afternoon, Low, Normal and Weekend.

We have four storage heaters within a three bedroom flat and our bill for two months was 291!

We were put on the tariff called E-On SaveOnline 3 as E On thought this would be best.

However, we are now looking to see if there is a better plan to go on that costs less at night because of the storage heaters and we are students and its hard to find that kind of money every quarter to top up our monthly DD.

Any ideas as I always feel fobbed off when ringing E-On, and had so many issues in the past at another house!

    Thank you!
