Hi --- Found these reviews for you although I have never dealt with them, the people in these reviews have all got only excellent things to say about them, if that helps in your research.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

I have just purchased my brand new car from www.drivethedeal.co.uk and I can highly recommend them for not only a good level of service but also a huge saving.

This was my first experience at buying a new car over the internet and I can honestly say it will not be my last.

I saved nearly £4000.00, the car was supplied buy a main dealer as they said it would be and delivered to my house.

Its not often I feel a need to compliment people on a business as this is what they get paid to do btu in this case they could not have been any better. In fact my son has just ordered a new Ford from them too and my daughter is also looking to buy a VW from them. Highly recommend them.

    Mr Adams.

HAHAHAHAHAHA PATCH - caught out again my friend. ANYONE READING THIS PATCH CLEARLY WORKS FOR DRIVETHEDEAL who must be very desperate at the moment to be using this tactic of making up stories. Patch claims to work for a dealer in one post, has just bought a car from drive the deal in this post, his dad has used drive the deal in another post, his friends have used drive the deal in another post. At least do the job properly patch and use different names.

Anyone got any bad stories about drive the deal?

I bought my car through them just over two years ago. Had no problems at all. My car loan comes to end Oct 2009 and if I go for another new car would definitely use them again. I did not save as much as the previous poster but I did save over £600 which the local dealer could not match.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

I have just been looking at Drive the Deal. They DO seem to be the cheapest but how can they afford to undercut their competitors by such a large amount? I am looking at Skoda Fabia and they are easily £500 cheaper than anyone else. Also interestingly you can't print out a qoute without paying £35 - which may be a decent deal - but will my local dealer just laugh 'HA HA Drive The Deal Know there game?'

Anyone else got any RECENT experience of these people? Anyone had a bad experience ....

And yes patch and your many aliases - please don't reply I've seen your review at review centre its interesting how you are always so vague about the car you purchase.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

I bought my MX-5 through them 3 years ago. The only contact you have with them is to confirm the order details and discuss available colours- I couldn't have my first choice and ended up choosing a different colour. Once this was decided, I was told that the Mazda dealer would contact me within 2 days.

The dealer did ring to introduce himself and told me that he was in Carlisle (I live in Lincolnshire!). I paid my deposit (it was more than the £500 quoted but I did have added options on the car). From that point on, you only deal directly with the dealer, although it is frustrating only having the option of telephone contact due to the distance involved. I ended up driving up to Carlisle with my husband to collect the car, as I did not fancy some numpty driving my brand new MX5 to me. The delivery included is driver delivery. The dealer would not budge on offering free trailer delivery. I found that the dealer would not budge on anything as the car is being offered so much cheaper that their profits have been cut to the max and therefore they have no more room to negotiate. Having said that, I got a car with extras that cost me less than the basic RRP. I think I paid a couple of thousand less- definitely worth doing.

At the end of the day, you are equally as likely to have good service and experience as a bad one as you are still dealing with the franchised dealer- just not a local one. It all comes down to the luck of the draw. You have to decide whether you want to save a couple of grand and risk hassle or go local and pay more. There are no risks- you pay the dealer not the internet company- he gets the commission direct from the dealer. Happy hunting. Hope this helped.

By the way, Patch007 is on another thread for uncardiscount, recommending other internet companies, including drivethedeal, so I agree, he is definitely connected to them and should be ashamed and removed. This is supposed to be honest advice between consumers, not dealers plugging their own companies with false testimonies!!!

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

In the end I bought my new car from a local dealer in Durham. I considered Drive-The-Deal for a Skoda, but in the end decided on a Hyundai instead. Back in March Hyundai had a national offer on for the car I wanted and I was able to trade my 9year old Rover (knackered 120K miles + head gasket on the way out) for 300 quid and that meant the deal prety well matched what Drive the Deal would have offered.

However the Skoda dealer I visited in Darlington was adament he wouldn't come near to matching the Drive the Deal price so it depends on the dealer.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

I bought a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso through them and delivered in June. They could not have been more helpful and polite. However the suppling dealer Car2Citroen Yorkshire were a complete nightmare (and still are at present). Drive the Deal managed to sort all of my previous problems out for me (as the dealer refused to even acknowedge my existence). I am sure that DTD have more than one source of supply for Citroens if you were to ask them.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

I have looked at Drive the Deal over the past few years when but had never used them until last year. My main Ford Dealer Macrae & Dick in Inverness were offering £2200 off the price of a new S-max. I checked the price on DTD and with all the options on the car the Discount offered was £5000 less £400 for delivery to the Scottish Highlands. The car was supplied from a Birmingham Ford Dealer. After agreeing the price with DTD, my main point of contact was with the dealer. It was an excellent transaction and if I was in the same position again(i.e. no trade in) I would use them again. In the end the main dealer never charged me the £400 delivery to the Scottish Highlands.

    Hope this helps

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

looking for a new peugoet 107 verve, list price is £9845. Thru drive the deal, they quoted £7845. Filled in the details required on Fri 2/10, rec'd phone call from them on the Sat 3/10 saying the dealer will contact us within 2 working days, not heard a thing from them at all. Wouldn't bother with these guys, they certainly don't fulfill their promises.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

So you are blaming Drive the deal rather than the dealer?

The quote they provided sounds very competitive.

Did you let DTD know that you hadn't been contacted, or had they told you which Dealer should call?

I'd go back to them about it.

    Sparky.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

Not blaming anyone just leaving impartial information regarding the process - quoting an attrative price draws customers in but following it through to conclusion is simply good customer service - whether it's advising a customer of negative or positive information regarding the said transaction.

Personally when a company promises something and fails to deliver you have to consider their overall customer satisfaction credibility. I would never chase a company - if they dont want the business then it's not my problem.

Re: drive the deal - anyone bought a car through them?

took delivery 3 weeks ago of black xc90 executive purchased through drive the deal. 42k list 31k paid yes 11k discount and the deal was pain free no hassle no haggle just paid deposit to dealer and waited for delivery of uk supplied car from uk main dealer. great service was treated like a vip so this has to rate as the best deal I have ever made. Extras purchased running boards, rear privacy glass, 3 year service package all subject to good discount as well. car is great deal by the way 30mpg looks and drive like a 60k car.
(plenty of black paint / glass and chrome) big bling factor for just over 30k. I would now use drive the deal as my first option when buying. Did not PX or use dealer credit so that aspect untested.
