Don't be fooled by the 'No Contract' advertising

Direct Save Telecom says that it provides 'Unlimited Broadband and Free Calls with No Contract', just a '28-day rolling agreeement'. In fact if you leave within the first year, you have to pay a £50 broadband disconnection fee. I discovered this when I switched after 6 months (because the broadband was so slow). This is on top of any compensation you have to pay them if you had a new phone line installed.

I asked for my £50 back because it conflicted with their 'No Contract' advertising, but they just ignored me. However, I got the last laugh by getting an ASA judgement upheld against them (see link). Dealing with that probably cost them more than £50!
