    Yes this is correct. If you report a claim and don't follow it up, it still counts as an incident, for which the Insurers will partly base the risk premium on.

    my car was parked on the road while i went into a shop i came back and realised driver side mirror had been hit by another car. so i went to the police station and reported to them about the incident. the police officers then came to my home to discuss this and he advised us too contact insurance and he said it wont affect insurance price. so i called the insurer and notified them they then went on to sending claim forms, however i did not make a claim or get any money from the insurer. the person liable for the damage was not traced. i sold the car and got a different one and when i came to getting it insured i found out that the incident with the previous car caused my insurance to increase even though it wasent my fault and i had not claimed any money. is this correct please could you explain thanks
