Do you feel more or less secure about your savings?

Last week we asked you whether you were worried about the security of your savings. Given the Government’s bail-out of leading UK financial institutions and the collapse/takeover of Icelandic banks Kaupthing and Landsbanki, how do you feel now? Are you more or less secure about your savings?

Do you feel more or less secure about your savings?

    • More secure – I understand the UK government is prepared to fully guarantee my savings. (28%)
    • A little more secure – My savings are safe, but I want further guarantees. (25.1%)
    • A little less secure – I trust the FSCS but I’m still worried about the financial crisis. (20.9%)
    • Not secure at all – I’m not sure who’s safe and who isn’t. (26.1%)
    Thanks for voting!

Re: Do you feel more or less secure about your savings?

Now that ING has taken over my Heritable Bank bond am I supposed to feel grateful or fearful? Heritable had its compensation scheme solely in the UK and that is why I chose it--now I am dumped on a foreign government. Since I am in a five year bond I cannot move my money. Should Heritable's customers not be entitled to a British compensation scheme ?

I am worried now that Heritable bank comes under the Dutxch compensation scheme. I started with british compensation, that was the reason I chose it.
