A year on since the credit crunch started and Britain’s major high street banks have revealed just what an impact it is having. All reported significant falls in profits in the first half of 2008, with Northern Rock and Royal Bank of Scotland having made a loss. Yes – totally. They became too greedy and lent to people who should never been able to borrow (52.3%)
Yes – to some extent. I think consumers also need to take some of the blame as many of them knowingly took on more debt than they could afford to repay. (43%)
