Re: Do travel insurers cover children who are not dependents?

My wife and I would like to take our nephews & nieces on holidays with us - do travel insurers cover children that are not dependant on family policies and if not what is the best way to get cover for them?

Many insurers will allow you to add children who aren’t dependant onto a single trip policy, sometimes at no extra cost. It’s also important when holidaying in the EU to ensure that all travelers have a European Health Insurance Card also known as an EHIC. This took over from the form E111 and will allow you either reduced cost or sometimes free medical cover when traveling within Europe. Its important to note though that this is no alternative for comprehensive travel insurance
