Yes you should pay, as otherwise you were driving around uninsured. You signed up to an annual policy, so have to pay the full premium for the year. Yes they made a mistake, but the amount is due.

    Do I have to pay?

After receiving a rather extortionate renewal quote from Admiral i decided to cancel my policy, I have now had a letter asking for the sum of 1 month cover.

I rang customer services and i have apparently only paid 11 of the 12 months due, as you can imagine with Christmas etc when i checked my balance a few days after new years eve i took that as being how much i had left until pay day and happily spent it.

They have told me they didn't take the final payment (due 31st Dec '11) as they had suspended my account & payments on the day i said i wasn't renewing and now (nearly a month later) are asking for the money.

I have told them i want a full breakdown of all payments made and the dates for which that payment covered.

Do i have to pay as it was them who suspended the payments & have only just been in contact with me about it? I always believed that if it wasn't within 10 days of them not taking the payment that its their fault.

Many thanks, i know it seems a bit of a haphazard way of explaining it but my mind is still reeling, from the thought of paying 2 premiums out of 1 wage so i do apologize.

    Chris
