    Re: disconnections

thx anyway but ive only got a phone and pc  on master socket,  and tried all the tests they suggested ive even sent my stats to talktalk so they can see how good it was , but i dont think im really getting anywhere at the moment as its now 6 weeks since the unbundling and feel if it was going to be fixed it would have been done by now, so only giving them till the end of the month then ive got to find some other provider i think because i rely on my pc as im housebound most of the time and i keep in contact with my family in oz so its important to me to be able to use my pc and phone , but have not been able to lately

    Re: disconnections

I have TalkTalk to so I understand, the best advice I can give is to make sure you are connected to the master socket with no extension cables and no other devices on the line except the phone of course but make sure this is on the same filter as the broadband line.
Then call them when in this position, advise them to refer to when it was working and the number of calls you have made. Make sure you only call them when the broadband is down.

I'm sorry I can't help more but there is no quick fix TalkTalk have to process the problem, it's down to them.

    Good Luck,

    Mike.

    Re: disconnections

well heyman in the moon  thank goodness someone else knows what its like and its just a coincidence but i went into my local cpw shop, and the fella promised to come and see if he could help, but he didnt come and phoning was waste of time but my contract says 18 months, but if i cancel im sorry im not paying the 70 pound fee no way ive spent over 50 pounds now on technical helpline but i intend going  to bt , because at least with bt if my phone or the line is faulty they come out , no  problem but i really cant understand why talktalk can get away with it , because i was told id have broadband always on ,which i did have for quite a few months ,but it was only talktalk who ruined it, i dont know if it is there equipment they use or what, but ive given it two more weeks then im off. by the way how long were you without broadband when you changed over to bt .

    Re: disconnections

Hi i had the same trouble with talk talk ,everything was great with the broadband service ,until they worked on the bt  exchange ,and then i had broadband for about two minutes in four months ,i phoned there  repair line ,a call centre , the people there could not understand me ,nor could i them ,went into local car phone warehouse shop to ask for help ,got a load of  promises , including the manager saying he would come to my house and get it working , he gave me a card with his mobile number on it , he never answered one of my calls , i canceled the contract ,then they said it was for 18 months ,and not 12 ,as it said on my contract , after loads of letters and emails, they agreed it was a 12 month contract ,and now with bt broadband , a bit more money a month ,but at least it comes on

    disconnections

hi there i dont know if you can help me but i really have tried everywhere for help ,ive been with talktalk for a year now and only had a few hiccups at the start, so no complaints, but alas since they unbundled my exchange eveything has gone pear shaped ,disconnections every 5-10 minutes and this has been going on since the 26th of march , had bt engineers said there was a fault on the line or at the exchange then called back to say it had been fixed but it has been no different in fact at times its worse , i really dont know what to do now, as ive spent so much money on phonecalls etc but would be very grateful if you had any ideas on just what could be causing this .
