In that case all I can further suggest without placing you at the mercy of the "Shark" type excessive lenders, is to give the good old Co-op a try.

Gave Zopa a go but no deal there either. I'm not a homeowner so this seems to be affecting decisions, very annoying though as I had a mortgage for 7 years, as well as another loan and a couple of credit cards and never missed or made a late payment, and I've worked for the last 11 years, I thought it wouldn't be hard to get money, but it's proving very frustrating.

Try Zopa no guarantees, but they operate in much the similar way to a credit union, with private individual investors collectively lending their money to borrowers, the interest applied is tiered into % APR groups... dependent upon the borrowers financial history.

Although Zopa do have various rates that take into account the creditors history, there maybe at least be one rate they are willing to offer you. Zopa charge between 8.8% > 12.7apr% at worst. Spend some time navigating the site it's refreshingly different and informative, the rates of interest available are banded into categories, A*, A, B, C & Young then set.. dependent upon your personal circumstances.

    Decent loan company?

Hi all, could anyone advise me on a loan company/bank to use for a loan of £8-£10000. My credit rating is fair, so at least not bad, it's around 760 according to experian. I've tried my own bank, Barclays, but their not lending, and every one I find on google is a waste of space, generally a broker asking me for money, when I clearly have none, hence the loan! I know I'll have to pay a high APR but I can live with that, just need some cash for the here and now.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
