    Debt from 4 years ago!

When I turned 18 my bank offered me a visa card, £1000.00 overdraft, etc when I was only working part time! As a result I defaulted on payment and in the end could not meet the payments. Ever since I have tried to forget about the debt but I know its always going to be there until I pay it off. I dont know where to start!!! I cant get a debit or credit card to start with and when I contact the debt agencies that have my debt they will only accept payment my credit/ debit card!!! what am I supposed to do??? anyone able to help??

The majority of banks set targets for their employees and reward "good" behaviour i.e. flogging bank accounts, credit cards et.c to people who might not need them or want them. If you passed the credit scoring system then you probably helped that branch hit its daily/weekly/monthly target. You did say "yes" though.

The debt won`t go away and you have to do something now or you will always wonder when it`s going to come back at you. The Citizens Advice Bureau in your local town will help. Make an appointment, take along all of your paperwork and they can help you come to some sort of arrangement with your creditors that will make it less of a nightmare and give you some control over it.
