    Currys Warranty

I currently have an issue with my Samsung Plasma which I would like to know if Currys (the retailer) or Samsung (the manufacturer) would deal with.

The display is goosed so do I have any rights with Currys or ONLY with the manufacturer??

    Re: Currys Warranty

Hi --- You still have rights under the "sale of goods act" with the retailer Curry's who your contract was taken out with, this is on top of the manufacturers 12 month warranty, your first approach should be to the store you bought it from asking them to repair or replace the set under the above act.

Be polite with your request, but also maintain a firm attitude that they are obliged to repair or replace, preferably with the manager or a supervisor, the set will probably have to be collected by them in order for the inspection & replacement panel to be fitted

They are allowed a reasonable amount of time in replacing the screen or offering you a like for like replacement set, if not then a refund.

Whether they do this then claim back under the manufacturers warranty is their concern, not yours. They are obliged to honour their contact with you as the sale of goods act applies, on top of the warranty which is an additional right.

Post back, if they give you the runaround. !!
