current account mortgage

i have a current account mortgage with the RBS this is a joint account,as this account has both my savings and mortgage tied together,is this type of account protected under the 100,000k policy if rbs went bust.

No your savings element of the cam would not be protected as it is effectively been paid towards your mortgage despite the fact that your facility may allow you access to these savings.
